Emily Hartley combines silver and printed silk to produce beautiful, elegant and distinctive pieces of jewellery. Inspired by nature and preservation, her graduate collection draws particular inspiration from nests and other protective forms. The silk which lines each individual silver pod form is printed with the handwriting from old postcards, evoking forgotten memories. Emily enjoys working with contrasting materials and combining them to produce delicate and tactile handmade work.
Having graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Decorative Arts from Nottingham Trent University, Emily now works from a studio in her hometown of Alcester, Warwickshire.
